KATHERINE HAS RETURNED WITH A VENGEANCE — Picking up on the same night as last season’s finale, Elena arrives home to a nightmare as she discovers Uncle John’s and Jeremy’s fate. At the hospital, Sheriff Forbes is comforted by Matt, Bonnie and Damon while she waits to hear if Caroline will survive the car accident. After a confusing conversation with Elena about the night’s events, Damon is the first to realize that Katherine has returned. Katherine’s arrival sends Stefan and Damon on a path to find out what she wants, why she’s back, and how much of a threat she is to the people they love. Meanwhile, still reeling from his father’s death, Tyler is surprised when his charming and mysterious uncle, Mason Lockwood, arrives to console the family.

Malese Jow Interview

WARNING: IT CONTAINS SOME SPOILERS

Malese Jow (Who plays Anna) was interviewed by Hollywood Crush.

By now, you should be used to the weekly twists on “The Vampire Diaries.” But one of the most unexpected plot surprises happened a couple of months ago when the sweet, new homeschooled girl in Mystic Falls, Anna, turned out to be a several-hundred-year-old vampire. If you were shocked at that reveal, you’re not alone — the actress who plays Anna, Malese Jow, was pretty awestruck too.

Malese recalled to Hollywood Crush that when she auditioned for the part, all she had to go on was a short description that said Anna was supposed to be a shy and geeky girl. “There was really nothing in there that made me think that she was going to be a vampire,” Malese said. “Once I got to the producer session, they said, ‘Can you read it a little more menacing?’ and I was like ‘Huh, ok.’ I didn’t know that she was going to be a vampire until the day I got on set they were like, ‘You’re going to be fitted for contacts.’”

Speaking of those vampire contacts, Malese said they’re “very, very hard to put in because they cover your whole eye.” The fangs, which are molded to her teeth, are real too (“I’m hoping that I can get to keep them!”), but the rest of the vampire look (the creepy, veiny eyes) is a special effect. “I thought they were going to draw red eyes and put in the veins, but it’s actually little black dots, two above your eyes and two below your eyes, and then they CGI everything.”

Candice Kidult Interview

Kidult recently interviewed Candice (Caroline). She talks about her life, Vampire Diaries and the season finale. The dates and stuff about the vampire diaries in the interview are where the Americans are with VD. So it might contain a bit of spoilers.

At the tender age of 22, Candice Accola has already attained a great deal of success. She was signed to a record label at 16, toured the country with Miley Cyrus at 20, and currently stars on the CW’s #1 show, The Vampire Diaries. Despite these achievements, Candice says she’s not immune to insecurity when it comes to matters of the heart. “I’m a girl in her twenties trying to figure it all out,” she says. “I definitely understand vulnerability.” That’s something she and her character, Caroline Forbes, have in common.

Where were you born and raised?

I was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Orlando, Florida.

What were you like in high school?

I always had tons of friends and I considered myself a floater because I never belonged to a particular clique. I was a singer so I always did lots of activities outside of school. Halfway through my junior year, I moved to LA and six months later, I was signed to Maverick.

1.13 Children of The Damned Promo

How awesome was tonight’s episode?! Anna is a freaking vampire! And Matt and Caroline are just to cute. Find out what’s going to happen in the next episode of VD on the video promo below.

In flashbacks, Stefan and Damon recall the long-ago actions taken by townspeople including their father, Giuseppe Salvatore, and Pearl, leading to the devastating events that caused the rift in their relationship. In the present, Bonnie’s date with Ben takes a frightening turn. Elena helps Stefan as he and Damon race to find the missing journal that belonged to Elena’s ancestor. Stefan learns the reason behind Alaric’s interest in both the journal and the town’s history. Damon discovers that an old acquaintance has returned to town with an agenda he understands.

By the way the next episode contains flash backs, so you’ll see a lot from the past. These days I have been watching ahead and I’m currently on episode 1.18 so if want to know anything that happens in the next episodes ahead don’t hesitate to contact me. I’ll be willing to answer any questions.

1.12 Unpleasntville Promo

I hoped you all enjoyed tonight’s episode! I really love Damon and O.M.G Elena is freaking adopted. To find out more about the next episode, watch the promo below.

As Stefan and Damon try to figure out the identity of the new vampire in town, Stefan gives Elena jewelry filled with vervain to protect her family and friends. Hurting for money, Matt takes a job at the Mystic Grill, where former high school football-star Ben, works as a bartender. Ben comes to Bonnie’s aid when he notices Damon is bothering her. Damon and Stefan accompany Elena to a school dance with a 1950s’ theme, where Alaric introduces himself to Damon.

1.11 Bloodlines Promo

Here is next weeks promo. Tonight’s episode was so amazing!

Stefan uncovers a startling clue to the past. Damon takes a trip to Georgia, where he surprises an old flame, Bree and enlists her help to figure out how to open the tomb. In the process, Damon comes face to face with someone who is determined to make him pay for past wrongs. Stefan opens up to Grams in his effort to help Bonnie overcome her fears and accept her powers. While researching his history paper in the public library, Jeremy meets a cute-but-geeky girl named Anna who has her own theories on the folklore of Mystic Falls. When Damon returns from Georgia, Stefan is waiting with news that will change their world.

Sara Canning Interview

Warning: contains spoilers

Here’s an interview with Sara Canning who plays Jenna, Elena and Jeremy’s aunt.

Canadian actress Sara Canning is best known for her role as Jenna Sommers on The CW’s freshman TV drama The Vampire Diaries. As the young aunt and new guardian of Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) and her brother Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen), the 20-something who was always the cool, fun one, now finds the transition to responsible authority figure to be a bit of a challenge.

The show, which follows the relationship between the human Elena, her vampire boyfriend Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) and his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder), premiered to the highest ratings in the network’s history and has since gone on to win the 2010 People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama.

In this exclusive interview with IESB, Sara Canning talked about the wild ride she’s been on with the successful new series and how she can’t wait to see where Season 2 will take them.

IESB: How did you become an actor? Was it just something you always wanted to do?

Sara: There is someone who played a big part in it. When I was 12, I was in a drama class in my junior high school and I auditioned for a play. We would use our after-school time and we were putting on this production, and I just had this really awesome teacher who was into the more quirky sides of theater. He would go into the dark side of Shakespeare, and that kind of stuff. So, I think he really influenced me, just wanting to be a performer and becoming really interested in theater, and then that developed into an interest in film and television, later on.
